Heather has been volunteering with many community groups since before her children started school in the District, and has been an active volunteer in the schools, and continues to do so.
Community: Coventryville United Methodist Church: lifelong member, Vacation Bible School Director/volunteer for 15 years, served in administrative positions including Staff-Parish/HR Chair; Communications Chair; Eastern PA UM Conference Board of Pensions and Health Benefits; Laurelwood Swim Club Board; Kiwanis Club of Pottstown – current Board member (Kiwanis sponsor activities – KKids, Key Clubs in the schools/scholarships in the schools- have given $10,000 for the past 2 years in awards to OJR, Daniel Boone, Pottsgrove, Pottstown students); Reb. Committeeperson South Coventry, 22 years, and EC- for 2 years, Vice-Chair of Area 4; South Coventry Auditor; Girl Scout Leader -8 years
Schools: a founding/current attorney advisor with her husband of the OJR HS Mock Trial Team; a founding member of the HS Model UN Club; a founding member of CATS (Celebrating Activities-Traditions of Students, off-shoot of the HS PTSA, including pre-post prom); PTA Service/Officer at French Creek, OJR Middle School, High School – HS President 2 years (fashion show-postprom 7 years),MS Dance Committee (13 dances),Homeroom parent, District 6th grade party, WATCH DOG founder with husband, OM/Science Fair/Environthon volunteer, Girl Scout Leader; Robotics; Sports Team volunteer-soccer, lax, Age Group Swimming; Band parent-Cavalcade/Senior Night; Musical- Marketing Chair, parent liasion; MiniThon-all night volunteer.
School Board Service: during 2015-2019, she served on SB Committees (Curriculum, Legislative-Policy, Pupil Services, Personnel, Finance, Extracurricular), as VP, and chaired the Technology-Communication Committee, and Pupil Services/Special Education Committee. Prior to Board office, Board opportunities that were open to the public: Feasibility Task Force Study; Superintendent’s Steering Committee.
